When people come to dinner at my place I like to have a home-made dip ready to serve with drinks. It’s a great way to relax into the evening and allows you a little extra prep time for your main meal. I have several dips I alternate between but I wanted to share this one with you today because of it’s festive vibe. Unexpected, vibrant, and incredibly tasty, this Smashed Peas with Almonds and Chilli is a real show stopper.
This whole vegetarian thing I’ve been doing lately has been a real trip. No, not because I’m discovering new and obscure super
expensive foods to cook with, but because it’s helped me use everyday ordinary foods in ways I never would have imagined. Take my Vegan Tuna Wrap for example. If you had told me 12 months ago I’d be making myself vegan tuna for lunch I would have laughed in your face.
Anyone who knows me knows that pasta is my favorite food in the whole world. I could eat pasta in one form or another for breakfast, lunch and dinner. Pasta is the first thing I will order when we go out to eat and is what I cook for myself when I’m home alone.

This dish is anything but traditional by Italian standards, but it’s yummy, super simple to throw together and a complete meal in one bowl. Yes please! It’s freezing cold in my part of the world at the moment. While I have come to appreciate the contrast of the seasons, there are others in my crew who don’t. It is for this reason we are making our annual pilgrimage up north to escape the cold.
Whilst most people would be doing a happy dance at the prospect of a tropical holiday, I secretly feel anxious (don’t tell anyone). Do you ever get that sinking feeling like you’re going to miss the plane? Well I have this for a whole week leading up to the trip. Even though we’re traveling domestically, I like to get to the airport 2 hours early just in case. Just in case of what I’m not really sure…
As much as I love veggies, sometimes you want a little extra. The right condiment can really bring a vegetable to life. My lemony, creamy, Brazil Nut Mayo works in so many ways. In sandwiches, mixed through quinoa or dolloped onto a fresh salad. Whether you like traditional egg-based mayo or not (I was never a fan) you have to give this Brazil Nut Mayo a try. It’ll knock your socks off! Continue reading “Knock Your Socks Off Brazil Nut Mayo”
